Silver Star set to open alpine on Thursday

Tue, 22/11/2011 - 3:50 pm

With 72 cms of snow at the top of Silver Star’s ski runs and more in the forecast, Operations Manager Brad Baker has given the green light to start the Comet 6-Pack Express and Silver Queen lifts and get the downhill ski season going for the winter. “Our grooming team has been out track packing and grooming since early in the week and conditions are some of the best we’ve seen for an opening in years!” says Baker. “We will have a great selection of beginner and intermediate runs open for Thursday and as more snow falls we will be able to open more and more terrain.” At press time Silver Star was planning on opening 20 runs and will have 6 terrain park features set up in Middle Dipper. Adult lift tickets are $50 per day during opening weekend (Thursday 24 – Sunday 27) and all other tickets will be 30% off until November 27th. The lifts start loading happy skiers and snowboarders at 8:30am and run to 3:30pm.
