Kelowna, BC – Come on up to Big White and Silver Star Resorts for the very first $5 Friday of the season and contribute to the Red Cross Tsunami Relief Fund at the same time!
Like all Canadians, Okanagan residents have opened up their wallets to help victims of the terrible earthquake and tsunami which devastated southeast Asia on December 26. The management and staff at Big White and Silver Star are committed to helping those in need and we will be donating all the proceeds from this week’s $5 Friday night skiing program, plus proceeds generated from the tubing and skating facilities.
The local Red Cross will be in attendance at both resorts, taking donations both Friday night and Saturday. We encourage you, your friends and family to help us raise funds for those victims of this disaster. Thank you for your support in making a difference to those whose lives have been so terribly affected by this tragedy.
As of Tuesday, January 4, the Southern BC Red Cross has already raised $300,000 in donations and Canadian Red Cross is now up to $71 million. We’re hopeful that this small gesture will increase those totals and further assist those in need.
